I get your point but if she really was a local girl she wouldn't be able to do a sold out European tour never mind touring the rest of the world.
She may not have had many big hits internationally but she can still push more records than a lot of the 'huge international stars', add into that that her style of music is theoretically designed for Americans alone 'Country' isn't exactly big anywhere else, she is doing phenomenally well overseas.
