"Don't Stop the Music" made dance music relevant in the U.S. again. At the time, it was risky to release such songs. I, like many people, thought it would bomb but it didn't. It's funny that some pressed souls with selective memory don't even give Rihanna credit for that. Especially when she pretty much paved the way for their dance-oriented fave.
And, yes, I too consider "Rated R" a risky project. The funny thing is that I don't even like Rihanna that much but at least I can acknowledge some of her achievements and I'm not talking about sales, charts and related stuff.
Some people just need to buy a bottle of sense, I guess.
