Let's face it, "promotion" is just like an excuse example:
after performing WTH on Jay Leno or Jimmy Kimmbell do we see effect on charts (iTunes)? no and I think is the same on every artist If people like it they buy it if not they don't, promotion is just like a must and an excuse to fans.

I don't know but for example Adele is doing hevy promo? I don't think so and look how is sellling same as Lupe he doesn't even have a strong single (not even top 80!) and his album went to #1 in the US HOW??? that's what I will love to know!
it's like if Britney don't get the #1 then they will said "ohh she didn't promote" blah blah (well yeah she actually exagerate and practically don't do anything) but if others without promo and anything still sell then let's not blame or be is all because of promo.
Yes, Avril's promo could be better and bigger and it may help but once again I don't think things will change that much.

You have no idea how a well-promotion can change things, my friend. Yeah, sometimes you don't need heavy promotion, but not in this case.

You can see how thhings have changed after she did a promotion on Z100. The song was about to out of Top 20 on Z100 but now she has a new peak (#6) on their chart. At least, RCA let her do more promotion on radio. The affect is obvious.

Anyway, Adele had a good promotion in her country and it worked perfectly. Lupe is a rapper. You'll see how hard his album will drop this week and next few weeks and probably will never see a light again...without promotion
