My friend showed me this reply video, which I really liked. It's nice seeing people who aren't just angrily spewing insults at her and instead choose to creatively criticize what she said.
I'm the only non-asian in my Econometrics class. Stay mad
BUT SERIOUSLY, she has a point. I can see where she's coming from. Australia too has a massive asian population relative with the whites and aboriginals.
Regardless of whether or not you agree with heard, you know you've heard those "OHHs" come out of some Asian person's mouth at least once in your life.
The problem with this girl is that she targeted Asians unfairly. Yes, there are rude people that talk on the phone in the library, but it isn't necessarily JUST asians. How about some of the white people that do that? Hispanics? Blacks? Lebanese? You get the picture.
And then she proceeds to tell us all how Americans have manners, when she clearly displayed none. Her intelligence level was most offensive.
The other problem is the way she mocked the asians with "ching chong, etc." That right there is VERY offensive. Of course, unless you're a minority, you don't know the true hurt of being mocked like that.
Now I clearly understand why other countries dislike American intensely.
I'm not Asian but my fiance is Japanese. i am glad she chose to withdraw from UCLA and I have a feeling that she will have a VERY hard time going into a normal life for a while.
Alexandra Wallace, UCLA student who created offensive viral video withdrawing from school

"I made a mistake. My mistake, however, has lead to the harassment of my family, the publishing of my personal information, death threats, and being ostracized from an entire community. Accordingly, for personal safety reasons, I have chosen to no longer attend classes at UCLA," she wrote in a letter to the Daily Bruin, UCLA's student newspaper.
Quote:
"Clearly the original video posted by me was inappropriate," she said in a statement to the student newspaper earlier this week. "I cannot explain what possessed me to approach the subject as I did, and if I could undo it, I would. I'd like to offer my apology to the entire UCLA campus. For those who cannot find it within them to accept my apology, I understand."
That was stupid of her to post it on youtube. Very stupid. If she wants to rant, then rant. But do not put your ignorance on display for the whole world to see.
