I think you would be hard pressed to find an individual out there that feels none of their work sounds like them or sounds as if anyone could have done it or something similar. They pride themselves on sounding different and having their own distinct sounds.

It would be more appropriate to say that the music they have recorded is safer than their past work considering they haven't been pushing themselves into finding new sounds, and incorporating new influences into their music (if you feel that way). But the overuse of the word generic should be stopped, because it's being misused and misappropriated.

HIAM is not generic, unless we have all been missing the massive dubstep take over the past few years..
