Reports have surfaced claiming Cheryl Cole is "crying herself to sleep" in LA as she awaits news about a possible role on 'X Factor' US.

She has even apparently resorted to contacting ex-husband Ashley Cole for support as her mother Joan jetted out to help.
A source told Now Magazine: "Cheryl, who's been crying herself to sleep, told Joan if she couldn't get there she'd be forced to call Ashley. What her mum doesn't realize is she's already in constant touch with her ex-husband as he's really the only one who seems to understand what she's going through."
The magazine had reported on Monday (14 March) that she had "turned to comfort food, bingeing on chips, delivery pizza and KFC" and feels like the "world's against her".
As previously reported by AOL Music, it has been claimed that Cheryl Cole's chances of becoming a judge on the US version of 'X Factor' have been slashed because of her relatively low profile Stateside -- it has been suggested, however, that she might pick up a mentoring role on the show.
