Well I live in Ireland and it's just like New Years Eve, all the young people go clubbing and get drunk. All the old people go to the local pub and get drunk, and all the kids go to the parade. I'm surprised to hear about this wearing green thing, it's not a big deal to wear green here.

Oh come on people, stop taking it so seriously. I happen to be 100% irish, but that isn't why I like it, because I don't really care about my heritage. It is just another good excuse for an entire city to go crazy on a drinking holiday. I am equally as avid about Mardi Gras, Cinco de Mayo, 4th of July, Halloween, Day before Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve...am I missing any, alcoholics? Hehe...the point is get into it

I also don't know anyone who pinches. I would stomp a bitch if they even tried!

That's a typcial American thing to me. I was an exchange student in the US five years ago and I really noticed how proud people were of their heritage and how they would say that they were Swedish/Irish/French/whatever but then it turned out that it was their great aunt's husband who spent a year in France.

I guess it has something to do with that everyone in America has heritage from immigrants at some point.

My greatgrandfather was from Germany but I would never say that I'm German and I don't think anyone would outside America haha.

Talking about your heritage is a very American thing, which I'm sure you know. We're an immigrant nation and every family has a story to tell. Yes, I am part Irish. My great-great-grandfather came here from there on a boat. Why would that bother you?

I don't make a big deal out of St. Patty's day though... At all.

There's always a few days out of the year where people, by nature, are inclined to act like retards. St Patty's Day just happened to be one of those days, and I will be one of those people.

St Patricks day was a total mess.

My school was the ONLY one in the city that was actually in and on the way to school some drunk ****tards started throwing glass bottles and shouting 'dirty protestant scum' at some of the younger kids and I had to go IN on them, scaring 11 year olds like that, what the ****?!

This is why I hate St. Patricks day, for 100 people who just want to have fun it only takes 1 to start a fight and well...**** kicks off. I plan to not be here for it next year
