So, I listened to the album. I will say that it's slightly better than her last.
My major gripe with Jennifer is that she hasn't been taking much risks. Her music skews to a much older audience, and I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. However, with her new look and her age, she needs to be a bit more contemporary. The album has some nice jams (the remake of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good," "Gone," "I Got This," and a few others stand out). I think Hudson has potential to grow as an artist. She is a strong talent with a lot of potential. I would give this album a B-.
Disappointingly (is that even a word ), the Alicia Keys songs are the worst. Especially Angel, it's SO bad Where You At, I Remember Me, Gone & Still Here are great! Believe is amazing . In general, the album is just average to me, it doesnt compare to some of the most recent R&B releases.

Don't Look Down is one of the best songs on the album.
Angel does suck!!! So much more could have been done with her vocals from layering to added harmonies. It sounds half finished to me.
DLD is by far the best of the 3. That **** slays!!!
I agree with that about Angel, but I think Alicia tracks tend to sometimes sound unfinished because she uses no vocal programing, or auto-tune at all, so its basically like the singer stepped in, recorded, and they mastered the beats.
I love this album, 10 times better than the first.. Angel does not suck , need to get your ears checked lol. I expect this too do much better than the first. she basically sold over 800,000 with only 2 singles and little promotion on the first cd, the promotion has been stellar thus far, and she has a lot of high profile coming up next week
If she performs I Remember Me, or something new, her #1 is on lock, the Idol effect is really working this year.
Are there rumors that she's performing? I think a performance would be really beneficial for both parties. It would give Jennifer incredible exposure and American Idol would have another opportunity to remind the American public of another A-lister they're responsible for.
