I asked my grandpa, who is 62, if there was ever a song when he was growing up that was so stupid/ridiculous yet so addicting that people just had to listen to it... his response? "Purple People Eater" by Sheb Wooley. It's essentially the "Friday" of 1958. You may be asking "WHO???" Yeah... I don't know either... but the song is pretty ridiculous.
Ask your parents what songs were the equivalent to "Friday" when they were growing up... What was their answer? Lol. I know one when I was younger was the Macarena.
