This thread getting reported is so stupid. The intention of this thread wasn't to be offensive.

If something major happened to California, don't you think we'd all be a little worried about our faves? Duh.

Anyway, glad all of those people are okay.

Maybe reporting it was a bit much but I still find it offensive. I know this is ATRL but how celebrity obsessed can you get?

Imagine if you were directly affected by what is happening and read people celebrating that some pop star survived? "Oh thank God Boa is still alive!" Umm what about the rest? It shouldnt matter if they are a celebrity or not.

And I can honestly say if (God forbid) my house had been destroyed and I had family members missing I wouldnt have time to care about Britney or her mansion.

Nobody in this thread said "Yes, Utada is alive, I don't care about the rest now that I know she's safe!". Everybody is mourning this tragic disaster and are concerned about the well-being of the people of Japan, but they are also concerned about their favorite Pop star status. I know I would.

I'm kinda worried too. All the mangas that I'm currently reading, imagine If their artist were missing or dead...

Gurl we're not rejoicing over the pain of others, but finding relief for those people who became a part of our lives is just a natural thing to do. Ofcourse family and friends come first. We know that. But if all of you are safe and unharm, the next thing you'll think of are the people who you admire a lot. That will not stop us from hoping the people who we don't even know are also well, our hearts are not cold enough for us to do that.

If you're directly affected, NO. Worrying about my favorite singer is the least of my concern after my family, friends and relatives. Besides deaths and injuries, most of the families need years to recover from lost property and trauma from this event.

I think what RainMan was getting is listing the names of these celebrities seems insensitive for a situation like this when we have thousands and thousands of deaths and homeless families. Honestly I'd rather get information on the death tolls and rescue updates than a list of names of people who are rich enough to recover from this tragedy in a blink of an eye, while the rest of those affected will take years.

Some people just don't understand we love our Asian faves as much as they love their western faves. It would be just devastating if something happened to Utada, Ayumi, Ai, Chihiro or Alan.
