Quite the contrary. Fourth week sales:
Born This Way - 231,480 (Cume: 1,474,360)
Bad Romance - 209,385 (Cume: 589,646)

Well obviously sales were front-gay-loaded but I don't think general public is really feeling it. JD, PF and BR to an extent was literally EVERYWHERE. Needless to say there are at least 1 million people ready to buy whatever she puts out. We'll see how she fares after she reaches 2m and how the radio will treat it now that the hype is dyin

I didn't say it was going to have the longevity that those three singles had, but at this point it has amassed enough of a lead that it doesn't need anywhere near such longevity to pass 4 million. That wouldn't even be matching BR's sales -- BR is going for 5 million. BTW is already outpacing BR's total sales by nearly a million while still selling more on a weekly basis.
I'd agree that the general public probably does not like it as much as JD, PF, or BR, but it's clear that they still do like it otherwise they would not be buying it
en masse. I'll say it as many times as it takes to get through -- nobody is forced to buy a song that they don't like. Exposure obviously helps sales, but it won't produce sales if people don't ultimately like what they hear.
