There are a lot of fashion designers that are dead but their names live on.
His clothes are more couture so you want see everyday people walking around buying coffee in his designs. Unless it's someone more fashion forward like Grace Jones or Lady Gaga.

Well they tone it down for Retail when they sell to stores like Saks and Net-a-Porter

Dead at the Chanel and McQueen collections.
If they were ever any ninja female movies they just use Chanel for the heroes and McQueen for the villains.

So how do they make money if it is only for catwalk shows ?

Runway looks especially Couture is mainly to show case the designer's talents and introduce new tends, which they then modify for the stores. the spirit of the outfit still lives on.

This isn't really the case for most Ready to Wear collections who sell exact replicas of the runway look.

I actually really liked the Chanel Collection. It was something different very hard with an Edge. Still elements of the Park Avenue Princess loved The Post Apocalyptic set as well, really brought the clothes to Life.

But the clothes are the same every season. The same fabrics the same ideas. The only thing that changes IS the runway

But in all honesty i think Valentino did stick to close to what they normally do same as Chanel but did it way more delicately.
