Lauren has impressed the judges all along, beginning with her audition, where she wound up singing “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” with Steven Tyler. After she performed last night (watch it here), Jennifer Lopez called her “a natural” and said she’s “so great to watch.” Randy Jackson said that she has a “natural gift” and that she reminds him of “a combination of [Kelly Clarkson] meets Carrie.” Steven Tyler told her, “You kill me…you’re the best.” That’s pretty high praise from the judges—and they’re not the only ones who like her voice.
“Just saw Lauren Alaina perform Reba’s song on Idol and she is the cutest thing! I can’t wait to hear a record from her! I will add to what Randy said about her being a mix of me and Carrie, she’s also got some Kellie Pickler in there. Sing your butt off girl! I hope you make it far in the competition!”
