Now I have no idea. It could be that casual listeners are just more into GaGa's singles, and that's why "BTW" is surpassing "HIAM" so quickly. GaGa's first-week album sales are completely unproven at this point, while we know Britney will pull big numbers. I simply couldn't predict whether the single sales will translate into album sales for GaGa.

Exactly, I didn't necessarily mean Gaga. But while before I was leaning more towards Britney, now I'm not so sure.

You all can look at the debut weeks of TF and TFM, and compare them.

Even Britney stans know GaGa would sell more.

It would've been a repeat. I mean 50 cent didn't really have any chance in hell he'd outsell Kanye and well now Britney....

If the results of this poll don't prove Britney stans are delusional idk what can.

Just because "HIAM" wasn't an incredible smash doesn't mean Britney is suddenly going to open small.

OIDIA sold over a million copies in its first week.
Britney sold over 700K in its first week.
In the Zone debuted with 600K+.
Circus opened with over 500,000 copies.

The only bump in the road was Blackout.

I have a feeling GaGa's label will ship out around 1.5 million - 2 million copies first week.

But that's exactly the issue. We know Britney will do well. On the other hand, the performance of "BTW" is not necessarily an indication of the performance of BTW. I wouldn't be shocked if GaGa opened with 1M first week, though. Remember the Katy fiasco?
