Started in the 1700's, a secret government organization trying to start America right (modernized) and it's rumored that who ever they have "watching" them is Satan.

Members are called "freemasons" and have different "degrees".

The intention of the group was good, was to start the "new world". Who they worship is a different story.

Just cause it's a secret doesn't mean people can't know about it in a basic manner. As you can see, people also speculate about what the Illuminati is, does, and believe in. That's because it's a secret society.
