CHERYL Cole's American dream of starring in the US version of the X Factor was in tatters last night as sources close to the star revealed that she could miss out on the judging role.
Cheryl Cole, who almost led the judging panel on the British X Factor could miss out on the judging role in the States due to her lack of profile and regional accent.
Cheryl, 27, has reportedly been offered the role of Sinitta on the US show as Simon Cowell's helper with the acts he mentors.
The Geordie star has been in numerous meetings with executives from Fox, who will make The X Factor in America, since arriving in Los Angeles, last week.
One source said: "Simon really wanted Cheryl on the panel, but people just don't know who she is over there."
