I thought to mysef, ok so if this is a tribute to Fela Kuti, what does painting your face "black" have to do with that? How will the readers in "Paris" understand that? Is that what artists do in an ode to honor a musician and humanitarian from Nigeria? Like a Nigerian blogger stated, Nigerians come in all shades of colors (as does Beyonce, but dats another topic) it's just real ignorant of her to think that this would be a tribute to this obviously well known African activist. God forbid that in 20years, a white or latin artist did a tribute for Beyonce with black makeup her STANS would be the first to say that it was disrespectful and ignorant not only to her, but the overall African-American community . So how is that fair to Nigerians? Wake up people she can be Queen Bee, Best Female Singer of The Decade, Miss. Carter, #1 Chick in The Game for A Min, idc! **** like this just isn't ok, educate yourselves, she shouldn't get a pass just because she's a huge star with a huge following. She should know better. Gdbye Lol

The shoot was a tribute to African culture & movements within that.
As you can see with my avi, she also did the shoot in her actual skintone so she represented more than just one shade. You should've looked at more pictures than just the ones that the blogs put up with her face painted to get viewership.
