When asked by host Andrea McLean about whether the media uproar about Rihanna's performance at the NBA was over the top, Usher said: "Artistic direction is just that, you know and obviously subjective. Everyone has their opinion and it's a family show. And I think that - when you travel to Europe for instance, I go outside and I see a lot in the advertisements, you know, like sex sells. And to an extent I think people are always kind of looking out for something like that."
Usher however, has always performed sexually-charged routines and continues to do so on his tour especially during the song 'Trading Places', which openly talks about sex. He highlighted the difference between men and women when he was asked about if there was a difference in attitudes in Europe and the U.S.
He said: "I do, in terms of what's appropriate on television. But I think we may be digging in a little too deep. I think that she is responsible young lady and maybe the song represented the attitude of, you know, think about it like this - how long have guys been grabbing their crotches?"
The singer, who performed at this year's Super Bowl, also hinted at the possibility of a collaboration between the pair, as he said: "Of course - hold on! We've been friends and our teams work together and we've talked about working together in the past, but it could potentially happen. I would love to work with her - I think she's an incredible artist."
I lost track since the last time a celeb doesn't include jealousy in their comment against other artist especially Rihanna who has always been criticized negatively coz people are jealous of her remarkable talent, beauty, hit-making ability, modesty, and the list just goes on....
That is not choreography, boo. She shakes her hips, goes down, moves her hand.... and, um, what did I miss? That's about it. The only choreography she ever nailed was the S.O.S one - that one was sex.
And as much as I would love to see Rihanna and Usher, we all know for a fact its going to be a ballad (Hate That I Love You/My Boo, etc), and I'm not here for that waste. If they're making dance jams, count me on board, otherwise, he should just go with Britney or Gaga.
