It's becoming more and more evident that they aren't promoting Hold It Against Me -- they will promote the CD through Hold It Against Me.....does that make sense?
They could care less about how the single does at this point considering it has already gone #1, the video is complete and the critics appreciated it.
Not to mention, the second single is in the process of being lined up. Why promote a song when its life-cycle is (sadly, and prematurely) on the brink of running its course?
Why promote Hold It Against Me now, when you can promote Hold It Against Me, the second single AND the CD all at once later next month?
Yes, Britney and her team are being extremely lazy with that focus -- but it's the reality. Britney very well may not want to promote -- by saving all the promotion for the CD and incorporating the first and second singles -- Britney can get all her promotion out of the way in one swoop then hide in her house for another two years.
The lack of promotion is extremely discouraging. Just a simple call into a radio station would suffice. Ryan Seacrest's studio for his radio station is right down the street from her house. Why even live in LA if you aren't going to take advantage of the opportunities around you? In the time it takes to send a Tweet - she could have CALLED (not even long-distance calling

) Kiis FM and delivered a message to them. It would have immediately gone viral, we could have finally heard her voice -- all of this promotion bitching could stop.
I'm pissed just as much as everyone else...but that brings up ANOTHER point.
Britney isn't doing this CD for the sales or recognition or public knowledge about her CD. It's becoming more and more apparent that Femme Fatale might just be a glorified mixtape. Whose to say that this CD wasn't just for the fans? Clearly she'll go #1 with just us buying the CD.....who gives a damn about the general public when you have us? Maybe she isn't promoting because she doesn't have to?
How long has it been since she really promoted? 2008?
Which brings me to my final point.
Britney has been in front of a camera since she was 6. She has always promoted, she's always being seen -- she's always in the news. Her name is always being said. If Britney doesn't promote then get over it. We've had her for 29 years -- and now she clearly wants to be with her family. Family >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fans when it ultimately boils down to it. Our girl is growing up and priorities change.
If you don't like it, then stan for someone younger. FACT IS, every popstar gets older....whether Rihanna or GaGa, they're going to go through this too. If you're a bandwagoner, then keep hopping on the younger artist train. If that's the case you probably moved from Madonna to Britney in the early 2000s when Madonna stans in the 1990s started to go through what we're going through right now.
Britney WILL still be doing music, but we probably wont have a full promotion train until her babies grow up. Whether full custody or not - you cannot tell me that those children don't come first.
