Ne-Yo tells Auto-Tune singers "Take the training wheels off"

Ne-Yo has criticised singers who heavily rely on Auto-Tune.
The singer and producer insisted that the voice-altering software should only be used as a "safety net" and not to help those who can't sing at all.
"Auto-Tune was meant to be a safety net. You sing and sing and sing and you don't want to blow your throat out trying to do the same note a thousand different times," he told Amuru TV.
"It was not meant to be wings. You weren't supposed to strap it to your back and jump off the building."
He continued: "The best singers [use it], because the truth of the matter is, as time progresses, there's going to be a note or two that falls out of place, and Auto-Tune catches it and pulls it back with everything else.
"Not, 'I can't sing at all, so let's turn Auto-Tune all the way up so that I just sound like [a] robot. That's whack, that's terrible. It takes all the character out of your voice. You hear it on the radio and go, 'who is that?' because everybody sounds the same."
The star recently spoke of his disapproval of Michael Jackson's posthumous album Michael.

He comes off as an asshole but I agree with him
It just wouldn't work for some people. People like Lady Gaga and Beyonce wouldn't need autotune to make a good song, but can you imagine Kesha without her songs be drenched in autotune, synth, and vocoder?

Then those artists wouldn't have a career. I wouldn't say thats a bad thing
Who's using autotune to help save their voice?
It's getting to the point where people are just using it to get a damn radio hit rather they could sing well or not without it.
But yet he supports Rihanna The dutches of Auto-tune lol
She doesnt use auto tune so dont try it Irv. Whos THat Chick is the only auto tuned song shes done and thats because its for David Guetta. When has she sung an auto tuned song? THough her vocals may not be the best she uses them as best as she can.
Please read and then try to tell me your fave doesn't use autotune. And that goes to everyone on the board.

Auto-Tune is a proprietary[2] audio processor created by Antares Audio Technologies. Auto-Tune uses a phase vocoder to correct pitch in vocal and instrumental performances. It is used to disguise off-key inaccuracies and mistakes, and has allowed singers to perform perfectly tuned vocal tracks without the need of singing in tune. While its main purpose is to slightly bend sung pitches to the nearest true semitone (to the exact pitch of the nearest tone in traditional equal temperament), Auto-Tune can be used as an effect to distort the human voice when pitch is raised/lowered significantly.[3]

Auto-Tune was used to produce the prominent altered vocal effect on Cher's "Believe", recorded in 1998, the first major hit song to employ the software for this purpose. When first interviewed about this, the sound engineers claimed that they had used a vocoder, in what Sound on Sound perceived as an attempt to preserve a trade secret.[6] After the massive success of "Believe", many artists imitated the technique, which became known as the "Cher Effect". It was evident in songs of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Some notable examples are Gigi D'Agostino's "La Passion" and Janet Jackson's US #1 hit "All For You", among many others. After years of relative dormancy, the effect was revived in the mid-2000s by R&B singer T-Pain, who elaborated on the effect in contemporary popular music by making active use of Auto-Tune in his songs.[7] This technique has since gone on to be very widely imitated by numerous other modern R&B and pop artists. T-Pain has become so well associated with Auto-Tune that he has an iPhone App named after him that simulates the effect called "I Am T-Pain".[8]
According to the Boston Herald, Country stars Faith Hill, Shania Twain, and Tim McGraw have all confessed to using Auto-Tune in performance, claiming it is a safety net that guarantees a good performance.[9] Sara Evans, John Michael Montgomery, and Gary LeVox (of the group Rascal Flatts) also rely on Auto-Tune to compensate for pitch problems.[dubious – discuss] However, other country music singers, such as Loretta Lynn, Allison Moorer, Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, and Reba McEntire, have refused to use Auto-Tune.[10]
Furthermore, why is Neyo always complaining? Focus less on complaining and more on your own craft and maybe someone would buy your albums. If he's not taking shots at his contemporaries/betters he's talking about his sexuality which no one gives a hoot about. Imagining him having sex with a man or woman is equally disturbing. He needs to have MANY seats.

I honestly didn't think Ke$ha is capable of making a song like this.
