I wouldn't! GaGa, Britney, Xtina...they are lessers when it comes to being a gay icon. No one has touched on the way Madonna has frequently reflected the gay community and our feelings/situation. I am not talking about how she has slightly begun to feed off of them in recent years...she is able to do this because in the past with songs/videos like Vogue, Like a Prayer, Human Nature and Express Yourself, she actually seemed to speaking for the gays subliminally.
I don't care if Britney's simple self is appreciative of the gays (she should be, for god's sakes)...that is not what makes a gay ICON! I don't even have to touch on how a local OC poll doesn't reflect the gay community...I am hoping yall are smart enough to figure that out for yourself
