Let me get this over with.
Misery - An uninspired retread of one of their most tolerable songs - not here for it.
Heart Heart Heartbreak - Not good, but better than I thought it would be.
Hero - I have a hard time listening to this without seeing the video, and how it became inexplicably popular after 9/11. If schmaltz needed a picture in the dictionary, Jennifer Love Hewitt screaming in the rain might do the trick.
Goodbye - There's a nice energy here, but everything done has been done better by Rihanna. It's better than Jessie J, though.
Sidenote - why was this song so popularly sampled in 2008/2009? Kristinia, Wale/Gaga and Jay-Z all did.
Monster - Certifiable genius, but if I'm asked to grade just on Kanye's part ...
New in Town - I kind of like how her voice doesn't match the beat; it's too patrician, too rigid to really know what it's like to be broke. But it works?
Destroy Everything You Touch - I've been remiss in searching out Ladytron, but I really like this. Reminds me of when electroclash was big.
We Need a Resolution - Still sonically ahead of most of R&B radio, but I've come to resent the way the song's structured - I need more of a verse/chorus/verse chorus. For what it is, though - brilliant.
Handle Me - The proto-Irreplaceable. Genius.
Dead Flowers - The best song this week.
