It was released at 9AM ET on itunes, well most were going to work/school, and it still sold in just under 3 hous. I don't think it would have mattered.... we were all up at midnight waiting for the radio premiere anyways.
it was released at 6am, my time. well yeah but you said it yourself people are "WAKING UP". people are usually sleeping at midnight. Gaga is having great success, you could be straight up and say she had a bigger advantage. that's why Taylor held the record before because she didn't release at midnight. she released at like 4pm. midnight is the worst time to release.
but i'm still happy Britney holds the actual midnight release. so i'm perfectly fine with Gaga taking that record that wasn't even Britney's in the first place.

I've been in the city a lot yesterday so didn't have a chance to play it more.
But at least they played it on the radio in some shops I've been.
