I was listening to Blackout again yesterday and it got me to thinking about "Why Should I Be Sad." Personally, I think it's one of the album's strongest songs: a melancholy slow-burner that serves as the perfect closing track--and ranks among the most honest and raw moments Britney has ever put to record. Yet most of her fans don't even given it a second thought, and in discussions of Blackout, "Why Should I Be Sad" is frequently criticized, if not completely ignored.

But I think it deserves better. And I'm sure many of you have other songs that make you feel the same. So here's your chance to share: what are the undervalued tracks that you believe merit a moment in the spotlight? (This is not about songs that should have been singles, simply those that should be listened to and loved more.) Maybe we'll even come away from this thread with some newfound appreciation for those album cuts that previously escaped us.

Kelly Clarkson - I Want You
Everyone's favorite non-singles are If I Can't Have You, Cry, or Don't Let Me Stop You... even the bonus tracks The Day We Fell Apart and Tip Of My Tongue receive more love than this. But this is my personal favorite of that album.

Everyone wanted DITD or Monster to be singles, ignoring this amazing track.

It wasnt single material. Thats the truth.

Hilary Duff - Gypsy Woman

This was my favorite track off of Animal.

Though it may have been mistreated by Rihanna's team, "Fire Bomb" is certainly well-loved by fans. When Rated R first came out, it was the song that everyone was talking about and wanted to be a single. I think it may be more people's favorite track off that album than any other (I know it's mine).

Yes! I definitely agree with you. It is one of my all-time favorite Rihanna songs, as it is filled with so much raw emotion, heartache, pain, etc. It is very relatable, in my opinion. Plus, the beat is just pure heaven. The song in general is perfection.

This may have been a single, but I actually have to agree with you on this one. It's a gorgeous song that should have been a huge hit; instead, most people don't even remember it ever existed.

I also want to nominate Katy Perry's "Pearl." When Teenage Dream came out, I didn't hear a lot of buzz for this deep cut, but it's the song I keep coming back to on that album. Definitely among the most beautiful tracks Katy has ever produced.
