No, the record is not about which song would be #1 in the 1,000th week of the Hot 100, since the Hot 100 has been around for over 2,500 weeks already.
It's about which song will be the 1,000th
song to go #1. Both "firework" and "Grenade" have already gone to #1 so if either was #1 this week (or B&Y) the list of songs that have gone to #1 would still be at 999.
Unless there's a way I can hear it before then
