Lindsay Lohan officially charged with felony grand theft

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed with EW that Lindsay Lohan has been charged with felony grand theft. The charge, which was filed Wednesday, stems from the actress’ alleged theft of a necklace worth $2,500 from a store in Venice, Calif. (The theft supposedly took place Jan. 22.) According to court papers, prosecutors are suggesting that bail for Lohan is set at $20,000. Lohan, who is on probation from a 2007 DUI arrest, could face one year in jail if convicted.
This past weekend, Lohan’s lawyer issued a statement maintaining the actress’ innocence. She has not immediately responded to EW’s request for comment. This is the latest of legal setbacks for the actress: After serving three months in jail for violating her parole last year, she tested positive for drugs. At the time, Judge Elden S. Fox informed her she could be sent back to jail for six months if she didn’t stay out of trouble.
I don't see how anyone can feel sorry for her anymore, no matter how cheap and trashy her parents may be.
I don't feel sorry for her anymore, she had potential but I can't see a comeback in the cards for her any longer. I don't think she was a great actress, but she reached a level of fame whereby she didn't need to be a great actress in order to be able to sell a film. I'm sick of hearing about her to be honest, I thought rehab would have done her good this time.

She was good but she played herself: a bratty teenage girl. I wonder how she'd fare playing a different role. We might never know.
Wow. I'm not really surprised that she was officially charged. I think we all saw it coming. I just don't understand her, she has had SO many chances. More chances than anybody else I know. And she blew them all. I'm curious to see how court goes.
I just CANNOT at people assuming she's guilty when she's only been CHARGED, NOT convicted....
Innocent until proven guilty. Perhaps the store knew that because of her legal troubles as of late, people would be less likely to believe her... but that doesn't mean they aren't lying...
Sure, she's made mistake after mistake and she could have prevented all of them, but that doesn't automatically make her guilty...
