Nah. Taylor sold a million cuz she's been the it girl in the genre that actually still sells albums while having a lot of crossover appeal.
I mean, at least there was precedent for an album selling 1m, even just a couple years ago with Lil Wayne. There is zero precedent for those kind of digital sales.

She was in store for some big numbers already and then came the 1 million predictions & the inescapable headlines (free promo). & in the end she just barely passed 1 million. So I don't think she would have done it had everyone not said anything about it. I know GaGa won't be doing 1 million first week, but higher expectations sometimes lead to higher sales.

well usually songs are released mondays and tuesdays, but they can be added any day of the week. Kanye/Jay Z HAM was released wed or thursday I believe.
Yes Gaga crosses over big time. I know people from all ages, from 12 to 40 who LOVE her.
It was quite surprising to see the variety of people at her concert. Whether old or new, freaky or rockier, gay or straight, the truth is everyone put their paws up once Gaga said so. It was very moving seeing that.
