Funny, from my perspective it's the exact opposite. Seeing the pants only reinforces her "freakitude", relaying the fact that she's some outscast and unrelateable non-being attempting to mascarade themselves as "normal" to fit within the confines of societies expetations. And there's this sense that she's immediately become aware her true identity has been exposed and that she can no longer run from it. Lik a deer cauht in the headlights.
