The petition states the former married couple have resolved their property, assets and debts.

According to website Radar, which published the papers, the couple have signed a special agreement.

While Christina filed for divorce in October last year, listing the date of the split as September 11, in his own petition, Bratman has listed the date as 'to be confirmed'.

He has cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the cause of their break-up.

He also states that a custody deal has been reached 'privately' in regards to the couple's two-year-old son Max.

Christina, 31, originally sought joint legal and physical custody.

Aguilera and Bratman, who had been married for four years, announced their split in October last year.

She told People magazine: 'Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever.'

The former couple met in 2002 when Bratman was working at Azoff Music Management, which is Aguilera's management company.

They had a sunset wedding in a tent near a forest in November 2005 at Staglin Family Vineyard in northern California's Napa Valley.

The Beautiful singer quickly moved on from her split, starting dating movie production assistant Matthew Rutler in November last year.

Meanwhile Christina is still recovering from her bungled Superbowl performance.

She was forced to apologise after mixing up the words to the National Anthem during the Super Bowl last weekend.

The singer will get a chance to redeem herself when she takes part in an all-star tribute to R&B legend Aretha Franklin at the Grammy Awards.

This makes me sad, I really thought they would last forever. I hope both of them find the happiness that they need and just take good care of Max, which I'm sure they will. They seem to be great parents.

I agree with you, I thought they'd last forever as well. They seemed to match up pretty good, so it wasn't like she married someone completely "out of her league", so to speak. But I'm glad they're getting this sorted out and they can both move on with their lives.

Why is the husband always the estranged one? By definition Aguilera is estranged too.

Yep, I completely agree. I really liked them both as a couple. But it is what it is, nothing we can do about that. :/
