It's going straight to #1 because of that. They repressed downloads to build demand, it's going to peak quickly.

It won't be for long. It isn't the real #1 anyway. One of the Glee songs will probably take it & then after that I see B&Y's first version making it back to #1. B&Y is #1 now but combined.

Well the song was released for digital download (and probably a physical release) only on Sunday in the UK. It would of lost A LOT of sales as it was repressed for so long, hence it will have shorter longevity than it would of had. And that is why it is going to debut at #1 on the Official Singles chart, because it was repressed for so long.

Hopefully it has good sales though through its chart run though

Hopefully the chart will return to normal soon, but then again we have the Grammy effect coming in a few days so it's going to be at least another week or so before the chart regains some normality.

Hmm, no updated pop bars. I wonder how big the leads are for GLee, BEP and B/Y. I think they'll be big until Friday at least. Hopefully Chris can maintain and be #1.

As much as this 'messy' chart is a bit annoying, I like it as its so different compared to what it's usually like; static.

Except whoever wanted to dowload it would have been able to do so from the many different sites that provided download links. I did. Also, it is just starting to pick up on radio. At this point there is NO indication it will peak quickly, or rather, any more quickly than other songs.

I don't mind it too much either, at least I wouldn't if I liked the songs that we're benefiting from the exposure they received at the Super Bowl. I much prefer the Grammy effect, it often allows songs that have been ignored on iTunes to chart higher, as was the case for 'Chasing Pavements' and 'Rehab'.

I meant more recent, with B/Y at #4.

I think they should change it so Glee doesnt appear on the iTunes chart, like when they allow purchasing of American Idol studio performances from contestants.
Its not fair that some Glee songs have blocked songs from artists from entering the Top 10, even though that song had decent airplay and Glee had none.

I like that certain songs are being kicked out of the top ten (mainly Coming Home - awful). Room is being made for What the Hell & S&M, I think it's about time they returned/went Top 10. I think they will get there before the Grammy effect, in typical Glee fashion I expect their songs to freefall. Their version of Firework is probably going to go #1 & Katy's version could sit nicely at #2 during the effect. The song actually has a shot of outselling CG, I never thought that would even be a possibility.

Rocketeer's performance is disappointing me, it has very good AI but it's not getting weekly sales like it should. It's not showing as much power as I would've hoped. Tonight has hit a bit of a rough spot, like ILI airplay & sales aren't going to match up well at all. It will have nice longetivity though.

What does airplay have to do with it? Just asking.

And yeh, theres not real indication that it will, a lot of the other songs are repressed aswell so it would have the same chart longevity/life as them (not all though)

It's my first real year of following Charts and stuff like this, What's the grammy effect like? Is it just for the songs that win the awards or is it the ones nominated aswell?
I Love chasing pavements & Rehab. But didn't chasing pavements become noticed when Adele performed on Saturday Night Live? Did its sales not take off from then, or was it mostly because of the grammys?

I agree, I thought Rocketeers chart performance would of been much better than it has been, I'm not completly rulling it out yet, but still.
Tonight It's falling like a rock, I was so sure that he would of got a #1 with this song.

I thought she meant it wasn't "fair" to block the song because it had airplay.
