I came up with this list while running today and I was curious which ones do you think are most iconic/your favorites.
I was kinda iffy about Crazy In Love and Umbrella, I wanted to delete one of them but I couldn't decide which so in the end I let them both stay, even though that means there are 11 and not 10 songs. Not sure if everybody will agree with IGF being on here, but it is the most successful song of the decade, and truly epitomizes the electropop movement that has been around for several years now which is why I believe it's earned its place. Unfortunately, Poker Face had to go because of this, since I didn't wanna have 2 songs from the same musical movement.
Because of the sheer vastness of Iconicness (not a word) on this list, multiple choice is allowed.
I was thinking about putting Hips Don't Lie as well, as representative of anthemic, huge event pop songs but in the end I thought that while it was a really huge success, it doesn't really have the critical acclaim of the other songs on this list (excluding IGF) and also there would've been too many songs from the 00's.
WTF at #4? Never even heard that song in my life. If you're going with ABBA, why not "Dancing Queen," "Mamma Mia" or "Fernando?"
Other than that, I like all these but I didn't vote for "Crazy In Love" because it wasn't really that iconic ("Irreplaceable" and SL had a bigger impact on pop culture) or "I Want to Hold Your Hand" because it was a throwaway hit for The Beatles.
