No, that's exactly the point. You just undermined your own argument about having a big album in a genre that sells better than any other being indicative of legend status.

It's not all about charting. When it comes to being a "legend" that's just not all that matters unless it's some type of EXTREME success. I don't care how long she wasn't here and if her comeback was decent. She is not an impact.

hey extreame impact well back in 2002 Avril get it so I don't see why she won't be remember she's also a worldwide act that other 'legends' don't.

Out of this list, I picked Rihanna and Lady GaGa. I was as objective as possible in my decision.

There's no denying the fact that Lady GaGa is very, very successful right now. I don't claim her at all, I'm not even a fan of hers anymore, but I definitely think she'll become a legend, if she keeps it up like this. While alot of people won't/don't agree, you can't deny the fact that she is arguably the biggest popstar of the past few years. We'll have to see what she has in store for everybody in the future.

Rihanna's #1's speak for themselves. While she hasn't had a #1 album, and may not for a long time, she is still very successful. Even if people consider her a "singles artist" (which, by 2011 standards, is not a bad thing), she is also one of the most successful R&B/pop artists of the past decade. Everyone doubted that she would make it this far, but she has, and she's bigger than ever. I wouldn't be surprised if she ups her total of #1's to 15+ over the next couple of years.

Only time will tell.
