"Firework" is generic, but let's not act like it's the most generic song ever, because it isn't. Besides, it's not like being generic is a bad thing. There is a reason something is generic. You can only be generic is you're making a sound that is/was really big and popular. There are many generic songs I'll listen to before even touching some of the "original" songs.
Anyway, back on topic with this being the Hot 100 thread, I'm predicting this week's top four to look like this:
1. I Need a Doctor
2. Black and Yellow
3. F**kin' Perfect
4. Look At Me Now
I'm just not sure about P!nk and Chris. I'm pretty confident on the top 2, but P!nk and Chris can easily switch positions. They were selling really similar for the first half of the week, and then the second half of the week Chris was selling more, but was it enough to get over P!nk's airplay? I'm not sure it was, but it could be.
I don't know if Chris is getting enough downloads for a Top 5 slot
It makes me angry that "****in' Perfect" is almost losing its chance to hit #1!! I hope airplay will help P!nk regain some sales and eventually hit #1.
I don't think BTW will stay 2 consecutive weeks at #1 so it could fall out and then after 2 or 3 weeks claim the top spot again.
Hopefully INAD hits #1. it's much much much better than B&Y.

When does the airplay week end? Wednesday. The song is 2nd taking off on urban and rhythmic with about 50 stations on each. I think it will really blow up this week.

I love this song and J-Lo makes a great sample.
I can see it happening with the right music video, radio and digital release, and right promo (including the exposure on American Idol, you can see how that helped Cheryl Cole a lot, and also she will probably perform it)
So I think she has a great shot + the record seems to attract listeners from outside the pop fan bases, I have a lot of hardcore hip-hop fans that like the song!!

yeah based on last week's Top 5 I said that it will need about 230K assuming it has 10AI to ensure a Top 5 debut, but I don't know, it could need more or lower depends on how other songs do
I totally spaced. If you sing that line to the tune of "slam slam oh hot damn what part of party don't you understand," it totally fits. That's probably why I thought it was from "Raise Your Glass."
