If 'Born This Way' ends up being a bad song, she could still survive it by her performances and music videos.
...No, I don't want the Grammys stage full of rainbows and unicorns. It will look like a cake.
Doesn't even matter if it's a bad song, it will be very successful. Her fan base and reach is just too big right now.
A fanbase can only do so much for a song & album. If it will truly will be successful it needs to have longetivity (which is determined by how the single is received by everyone).
First thing I thought when I saw the shoes was Black Jesus.
That's also one of Madonna's most iconic moments.
I think Lady Gaga will serve the same fate. She too will go too far, and it will be seriously controversial.
Unless of course, the meat dress was it.
Pop lyrics never look good on paper if you haven't heard the actual song.
The more you think about it though, this can't really be applied to BTW. With Born This Way, people are uncomfortable with the lgbt chola orient thing and that still won't change when you add a melody and production.
It's so funny how all those organizations already have responses about the lyrics, and the song hasn't even been released. Just show how big Gaga is. #shadetoRihannastans
I get that, but I mean it's not like you don't have additional information at your disposal. You know Gaga and Garibay are producing, and you know her track record.
How important are lyrics in a pop song to you in comparison to melody/production?

Something tells me the meat dress isn't even the beginning.
