Can someone please explain all the hate FFXIII gets....I just got a PS3 so I'm finally able to play but I'm kinda nervous

well i personally didnt like it because the storyline was so linear like you couldnt roam around as much as you could in previous games like enter into towns and stuff like that, and because of that there were hardly any side-ventures

Number 1 sis, just wish they were both higher quality

On the other hand if you like X, you'll probably find a lot to like in XIII...both linear, similar character upgrading systems(in a way)...it was made by the same team so the games have kind of the same spirit...

FFX wasn't that linear, you could back to anywhere you liked once you got the Airship and there was a lot more to do (Blitzball, Aeon collecting, Monster Arena, Character Customization, etc)

True, but both games have a feeling of forward movement that while X kinda hides very well, XIII is definately more in your face with it...just that the story pushes you along in both(or at least XIII tries lol) and that both are story driven games up until a certain point. The main difference that after you beat X there's still so much to do, and for XIII there's really no incentive...I'm still trying to max my Crystarium out(so close too)

FFX was epic, it's only overshadowed by FFVII.
