I was hoping she'd surprise us and they wouldn't actually be part of the song. But I knew they would be part of it.

Society is so much more critical now than ever before. I know what her intentions for this single are, I'm just not sure if it's what people want.

I don't agree, I think mediocrity is much more accepted now than before. *look at iTunes top songs*

It should do fairly well since Glee is covering it. Glee never covers flop songs.

In all honesty, cheesy lyrics have never really bothered me. I mean, obviously I'd prefer something original and clever, but it'll never break an otherwise good song for me.
I do think it's funny how my initial reaction to "don't be a drag, just be a queen" line was kind of "oh jeez," but now in the context of the full song I think it could be hilarious and awesome. I guess it all depends on her delivery.

Atleast Gaga isn't predictable. It would be so boring stanning for an artist that releases the same stuff over and over.

Mediocrity has always existed, it's just that nobody remembers the mediocre stuff.

I know!, atleast Gaga brings melodies/lyrics that we havent actually heard in mainstream music
She keeps freshening up the airwaves whether you agree with me or not, its true

I saw some people worried in the lyrics thread, saying "it's too big of a risk, why is she doing this?", but isn't that what Gaga has done ever since her debut? Push boundaries. She knows this is a risk, but she's not afraid to release it and stand up for what she believes in.
|
I agree. It made me think of Fernando Garibay's tweet about how they were "about to ruffle some feathers" before the lyrics were posted. They know its a risk and going to push the boundaries again. I cannot wait to see her perform it. I also wonder when during the Grammy's she would perform. Could she close it out? Or somewhere in the middle...

I wouldn't doubt it, Cuz of all the hype, Gaga's words, Elton's words, and simply the fact that she hasn't dissappointed me yet with a song.
The only song i dislike is Disco Heaven, and i have no idea why, but i just never liked that song

We know she likes to piss people off through whatever she does, which may explain some of the lyrics.

I'm gonna try to take a break until the single is released, lurk a bit This thread is a mess with all sorts of colliding opinions right now.

I've never disliked a GaGa song, I'm not too worried about this. If I dislike the first single then I'll still have the album to look forward to.

I never stanned for them during their heights (Umbrella, Tik Tok) so how would I go "back" to stanning for them now?
