Some of you can hate the lyrics all you want, but I can pretty much say that this song will slay.
Not just another 'like a plastic bag' song. I'm not here for metaphorical lyrics that don't even make sense.

If you're disappointed, then just sit and hope that the real song is a smash. This late in the game you shouldn't give up hope. Flop stans.

The crazy melodies and beats were and still are the main reason I listen. If "Born This Way", even with its slightly cheesy lyrics, tops her other singles with its melody and beat, I think it will be her best song yet.

Oddly me too!

She doesn't call them oriental. Referring to their place of origin isn't offensive. Anyone who tries to make something bad out of this song would be an idiot, it's a ****ing empowerment song.

She's not in the position, though. Can you realistically sing this song in public with people giving you a warm embrace?

This is everything I needed to read.

Born This Way (the album) is the only thing that I am looking forward to this year, as well as events that Gaga will participate in, such as the Grammy(s). These lyrics are great... and I bet that the (19?) other songs on the album will have really beautiful lyrics. The sonority of the songs will undoubtedly be fantastic, as well... I am a super-Monster.However, I am not yet wholly comfortable with myself or my own sexuality. I'm very submissive and sometimes quite shy when I'm around certain people that I feel will judge me. Therefore, I understand why some people think that these lyrics are a little too "gay", especially for her heterosexual Little Monsters. Accepting yourself is a progression for some. Sometimes I try to change, and be more open in public areas. I've come a substantially long way compared to how I used to be when I first "came out". This album will be the impetus to a societal revolution, breaking hundreds of conventional social concepts. -- this is a GOOD thing. I'm very excited for this. On the other hand, Born This Way is intentionally scary. (It's "what keeps us up at night"). It's supposed to break the boundaries of our infinitesimal abstract thinking, and initiate not only a revolution throughout humanity, but a revolution within ourselves. I am so sick and tired of being afraid of myself, and who I can be, and who I want to become. It won't change, because when my guts churn on the inside because of my paranoia, it's eternal. I think to myself that I don't care what others think, and that I will achieve all of my own success in this lifetime, and that I will assume the position of a powerful and carefree being -- but in reality, when you're scared of yourself, you can't breach those ropes that you are bound inside. One day I will break free. One day those ropes will be unbound and I'll be able to roam the fields, cities, towns, states, countries, and oceans alike with a head held high and proud of myself. I couldn't have done it without Lady Gaga. And as pathetic as that sounds, it's not. It's not pathetic at all. One day, I will realize that I was Born This Way... and there's no changing that.

so much truth in there.

Hello gorls and boys, I am back.

The song touched my heart so much. I can already say this will re-define Gaga + hit the charts.

There are far worse words to be concerned about then "orient". None of my asian friends find that offensive. There are even signs with it here.... and there's a huge asian population in Vancouver.

I'm not Asian or Hispanic, but I have friends and know people who are.
The N word is more liberating towards people who are black, but Asian people won't be calling each other "Chinks" or "Orients" anytime soon.

@ some people staring at the lyrics long enough to fault the slightest word.
I still haven't read them thoroughly yet

I am Asian, myself. I don't find it really offensive.
Not being biased, I even asked my mom who's really Asian.
Some of you can now find another reason why you dislike the lyrics.
Stand up for what you believe in, 'cause you were Born This Way, I believe?

I'm sorry but why do I only see Britney avatars everywhere in this thread? I'm going to bed, and you should crawl back to your Britney thread. Didn't the song just drop to #6? Go worry about that.
