The performance with Michael is fine, and it's always nice to see the efforts of two pop royals combining in one performance. The Michael performance isn't as memorable or buzzworthy as the performance with Madonna (for obvious reasons), but my biggest problem is the amount of interaction she and Michael have on stage. The little cat and mouse game she and Michael play for 4 minutes isn't particularly interesting, but also fails to create a sense of connection between them. Madonna seemed to relate to Britney better than Michael did, and I'm not just referring to the kiss.
There's also the fact that both Britney and Christina are both referencing Madonna by dressing like her. They easily could have added that element to the Michael performance through costume or having Britney dance in a Jackson-esque fashion. Nothing in the Jackson performance plays up the fact that this is Britney Spears performing alongside THE Michael Jackson.
