Her album is great.

But it's not really Indie. It is not any less POP than Gaga etc.

If she was promoted properly or have the right song at the right time, she could get really really big.

I'm pissed off she's not more popular too. I never expected her to break into the US anyway so that doesn't bother me, but she hasn't even had a top ten hit in the UK. The Family Jewels peaked at number 5 and has been certified gold, but I was expecting much more from her. I thought Hollywood and the album would have gone to number one. Hopefully her second album will be her breakthrough. Adele only blew up recently, not everyone is a mega-star from the get-go.

I couldn't agree more. It's a very rare occasion for a non-American artist to become successful in the US nowadays. It was different in the past, but for the past two decades British talent has not been able to penetrate the American market. Amy Winehouse, Coldplay and a few other have in recent years, but it doesn't compare to the success they've had in their homeland. Amy's achievements in the US are modest compared to what she's sold in the UK. She's known there because of the Grammys, she wouldn't have sold otherwise.
