Glad to know I'm not the only one that feels this way. It would be like the UK calling their country "Europe". How arrogant and, well... Typical of the US. That's why I try to say "the US" or "USA" when I want to shorten it, because that is the proper name for the country. We are the United States of (the continent) America. When most US citizens say things like "America is great", they are usually excluding other the other countries on the continent. Sad.
