Dude don't be. I'm gay too, and everyone has its own rhythm and must go through their own things before being happy.
I realized it a LOOOONG time ago. I'm 22 at the moment, and never for a second did I feel sad. Of course I've always been aware of stuff I would have to struggle with, but I refused to be sad because other people don't understand/accept me. So I waited.
And seriously, I LOVE what being gay has brought me. It made me a judgemental free person because I too am from "the other side", which really doesn't exist anymore.
I don't expect you or most of the other people to keep a firm grip on your emotions like I did, because I am well aware of how much some of my best friends suffered during their teen years. But everyone eventually goes through it and becomes prouder and prouder as the years and maturities go by.
The parent thing will come naturally. At one point, when you have someone you truly love, you better bring him home and show your parents how happy you are. Seriously, don't even give them the choice to reject it. What's it to them?
A significant reason why I love Gaga is because she is basically the culmination of everything I as a person stand for. Before the brilliant performer, the talented piano player, the powerful singer and the coolest girl from New York, she's a beautiful human being. The fact that she makes the most epic and tasteful pop music out there is just icing on the cake.
Everything will be fine dude, never a sad moment. Promise me!!
