The thing that made MJ such a legend/phenomenon is his performance abilities. He brought new and innovative moves that even the younger generation seeks to learn today. Hell, I'd even say his moves belong in a genre of its own.

Britney, while a great performer, has done nothing innovative like MJ did.

Now, this article is talking in terms of sales, but I feel that's a bit grasping at straws here. I have to agree with some of the sour grapes here, sales don't necessarily indicate legendary status like MJ. I was around during his impact in the 80s and around during Britney's in the 90s. Nobody denies that she was a huge impact on pop, but to the extent of MJ? No way. Not even close. That guy was just legendary from the start.
