Japoy's Best Of 2010 | Top 100 Songs (10-06)
10. Timbaland feat. Katy Perry “If We Ever Meet Again”
“Do you come here much?, I swear I’ve seen your face before. Hope you don’t see me blush, but I can’t help but want you more, more...”
The collaboration from rapper Timbaland and the beautiful Katy Perry makes it way to the top 10 for If We Ever Meet Again. This is one of my early favorites last year and having Katy Perry in the track makes it even better. One of the interesting stuff here is that Timbaland actually sings instead of raping. The music video tells a love story about a jewel thief and an art thief, with Timbo and Katy singing on some scenes. Even though this is not a memorable song or a hit, it is a good song to listen to, well deserved to be this high in my countdown.
09. Bruno Mars “Just The Way You Are”
“Oh her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining. Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying. She's so beautiful, and I tell her everyday...”
After being featured to the catchy anthems for Nothin' On You and Billionaire, here is new comer Bruno Mars on his own singin' for his girl with Just The Way You Are. This song is so perfect to sing to with your girlfriend and from the women's perspective they would love to hear this from their man. The lyrics, the melody and Bruno's vocals are just good enough to produce this as a hit. It even reached the top spot in the US Billboard Hot 100 and other countries including here. Bruno Mars made a successful debut last year and I wonder if he can give us more of those beautiful songs just like this one.
08. Rihanna “Rude Boy”
“Tonight Imma let you be the captain, tonight I'ma let you do your thing, yeah. Tonight Imma let you be a rider, giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up babe...”
I will consider this song my most played track from the Rated R album as it is really catchy and fun to listen to. Probably the song that has the pop vibe from that album and Rihanna made a good decision releasing Rude Boy. This song is the first song by Rihanna to reach the #1 spot in the US Billboard Hot 100 last year and it truly deserve to be on the top spot because it is so damn catchy to ignore. To be honest, I never get tired listening to this fun song whenever I listen to it. The video makes it more entertaining as it has some dance moves and so colorful. Rude Boy has been my favorite song all throughout the year and this is why it managed to be in the top 10.
07. Adam Lambert “Whataya Want From Me”
“Just don't give up, I'm workin' it out. Please don't give in, I won't let you down. It messed me up, need a second to breathe, just keep comin' around. Hey, whataya want from me...”
The highest single from American Idol runner up Adam Lambert is the catchy Whataya Want From Me. This is by far the best track from his debut album and thankfully it became a hit anywhere. A perfect attitude song, Adam Lambert provided a great vocals delivering this upbeat rock anthem. Pink certainly knows how to make a great song, just so perfect. Hopefully we get to hear more from Glambert in the future and surprise us with his music.
06. Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg “California Gurls”
“I know a place, where the grass is really greener. Warm, wet and wild, there must be somethin' in the water. Sippin' gin and juice, layin' underneath the palm trees (undone)...”
Last before we reach the top 5 is Katy Perry's smash hit for 2010 for the summer anthem of California Gurls. What can I say, Katy Perry made 2010 her year and it all started with this catchy song. When I first heard this on the radio, I knew it will be a smash hit and I was right. I was really into this song especially when the sweet and amazing video came out. California Gurls is just pop perfection, it makes me smile whenever I listen to this song. Hopefully we get to hear more from Katy Perry with this kind of song.
