It seems that the producers for ‘Never Say Never,’ an upcoming film featuring live performances of teen idol Justin Bieber, waited until the last minute to officially request permission to use the Super Mario theme song in the movie. In a random act of good common sense, Nintendo has rejected the request to the dismay of the film’s director.
“aw C’mon Nintendo! Y won’t u let us use the Mario theme for 15 secs in the @Justinbieber movie,” said Never Say Never director Jon Chu via Twitter. “…talk about free advertising passed up. Oops,” adds Chu.
Never Say Never is scheduled to release on February 11 over Valentine’s Day’s weekend – and we’re certain that we’ll never watch it, Mario music or no.
I love Nintendo. I'm pretty sure a company like Micro$oft or $ony would have accepted the offer, heck, they would have even paid him to use their songs. If I'm not mistaken, Micro$oft paid Justin once to advertise Kinect in his shows. Micro$oft are so greedy, and $ony aren't better either.
