For example, this is my breakdown:

1. Hip-Hop/Rap: 98
2. Pop: 90
3. R&B/Soul: 66
4. Arabic: 31

6. Mashup: 2

9. Alternative: 1

total: 1,503
Rock: 1,291(that's putting alt, punk, grunge, indie, metal and all the rocks together. XD)
Pop: 198
Country: 16
Electronic: 4
R&B: 35
Blues: 6
Dance and House: 12
And then there are a whole bunch of songs that don't show a genre. lol

R&B (includes R&B/Soul, R&B/Pop, R&B/Hip-Hop etc): 1099
Pop (includes pop rock, pop/R&B, traditional pop etc): 861
Rap/Hip-Hop: 483
Rock (includes Alternative Rock, Nu Metal, pop rock etc): 347
Latin (includes latin pop, bachata, merengue, reggeaton etc): 317

My old ipod had a lot more since it was sync to my old computer, my new ipod is sync to my new laptop and I haven't uploaded all the songs from my cd collection but so here's my ipod's current genre breakdown.

Rock: 356 (Evanescence, Linkin Park, Queen, etc.)

Pop: 293 (Imogen Heap, Sarah McLachlan, Britney Spears, etc.)

Metal: 215 (Within Temptation, Disturbed, A Perfect Circle, etc.)

Alternative: 108 (Thrice, The Killers, Depeche Mode, etc.)

Country: 81 (Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, Dixie Chicks, etc.)

Classical: 27 (Dax Johnson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Two Steps From Hell, etc.)

Electronic: 24 (Iamamiwhoami, Portishead, IAMX, etc.)

R&B: 12 (Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Seal, etc.)

Hip Hop: 9 (Black Eyed Peas, The Fugees)

Soundtrack: 9 (Clint Mansell, Naoki Sato, Charlie Clouser, etc.)

I have a larger collection of Trance/House/Dance music but I don't keep all of it on my iPod cause the songs have a tendency to be 3 hours long and take up a ton of space.
