TBH a lot of popular pop acts these days have no appeal. No shade, but what appeal does Ke$ha have? Katy has a cute face, but her material isn't all that and she isn't much of a singer or performer either. Even people like Jay Sean, Jason D, & T Cruz can get hits. Keshia is pretty talented lady with a nice voice, and from what I've seen decent performance skills.
Also, plenty of ****** music has topped the charts and many acts outside of the US in 2010 have been managed to garner a bit of success. If they can do it then Keshia can as well. Table Dancer has potential, and so does Test Drive.

All of today's top female pop stars are gimmicks. Particularly Gaga and Ke$ha, with their over-the-top personas and fashion statements. Rihanna with her drastic image overhauls every era, Nicki with her cartoon ****, etc. I don't know that a gimmick-free female pop artist (that isn't named Britney Spears) will be able to get attention in today's pop market. Especially a NEW (to the US) artist like Keshia. Unfortunately, this is the state of our market today. You have to be
desperate to get noticed. Beyonce, Keri, and the other r&b/pop girls get by without because unlike Keshia they have urban appeal, and urban audiences don't require all the flamboyance and attention-whoring antics that pop fans do.
