It's makes sense in theory. If they can get DNA from the frozen body of a mammoth that's still intanct.

And if it is possible there would undoubtedly have to be permission granted from the international science/research/technology committee or whatever before it can be done, and they definitely wouldn't get it because no one wants to resurrect the species of a gigantic enormous hairy ass elephant.

They probably won't be back. One of the main reasons why they were extinct is because the sustenance conditions were no longer good. If they were to be back, they would make one hell of a mess in the food chain. Besides, these scientist aren't going to let them roam free. They'll probably be kept in a zoo for exhibition or in scientists labs for researches.
