Just as on “Idol,” she doesn’t really need the help: she has a keen, finely honed pop instinct all her own. And no small part of her charm is her repudiation of “Idol” streamlining. In her album liner notes she gives thanks to “Welfare, WIC and Medicaid” but makes no mention of Simon Cowell. It’s a reminder that Ms. Bowersox was explicit long before she got to “Idol.”

Crystal's album still remains in the top 5 on Amazon @ #4, #5 on Barnes and Nobles website, and her single goes for adds on Monday. I think the album could have legs.
. She will get a nice boost from it.
