"Don't Hold Your Breath" was originally written by Keri Hilson, Timbaland and Crystal Johnson for Timbaland's Shock Value II. It would have featured Jordin Sparks. For undisclosed reasons it was not recorded and was instead they intended to pass it on to Brandy for her next album when she was still with Epic Records. However as soon as she was dropped the song was put into the Timbaland vault. Those of you who are true Nicole fans will know that Keri Hilson was commissioned to work on "Her Name is Nicole" and originally penned "Alienated" for Nicole. But due to the pushbacks she reclaimed the song.
As part of that outstanding agreement Hilson subsequently gave "Don't Hold Your Breath" to Scherzinger. The final version is exactly as the demo shows. Its produced by Dave Audé and co-produced by Jonas Jerberg ("I Hate This Part" by Pussycat Dolls).
I absolutely love the demo! The song is GREAT! I could see Katy Perry singing this.
I love that it has guitar riffles and piano.
Its a great track and im sure Nicole's version is gonna rock!
