I love how Christina gets burned for copying Lady Gaga on Bionic, when nothing on Bionic sounds like Gaga. Meanwhile Britney absolutely cannot be accused of following trends. Oh no...not Britney. If anything she made HIAM waay before Kesha was born. Giiirls. I don't care if your career started in 1801, it is very possible to be inspired by particular new movements in 2010.
I'll use Madonna as an example again. Hard Candy was clearly inspired by Timbaland's production on Nelly Furtado's Loose. She wanted that trendy sound. The same goes for a lot of pop acts today. From Dr. Luke to RedOne, these producers are handy out hits that may sound similiar to produce similar success. I really don't think it is one particular artist, just this particular era that inspires producers to make these type of songs.
I would love to know what song to you sounds like HIAM.

well i honestly dont think many of the informed actually think anything on bionic sounds like gaga
The OP worded the title wrong. It should have asked: "Is HIAM inspired by Ke$ha's sound?"
I won't disagree with that. I thought 'what....' when I saw the title, but then realized where he was getting at (I think). Kesha is bandwagoning it too. I like her and all, but I don't think Kesha, the artist, can be inspiring to someone like Britney.
You all have to get this through your heads, Hold It Against Me's producer is Dr.Luke, the same producer who produced Take It Off & TiK ToK. There will ALWAYS be similarities between his productions, it's humanly impossible for him to produce tracks that have nothing in common. Of course the tracks will sound alike. You can't say Britney was inspired by Ke$ha, that's a false statement, it's like Britney herself chose to copy Ke$ha. Ridiculous. If anything, we should credit Britney for pushing the boundaries and choosing to go dubstep on the breakdown that added a new fresh breeze to the production. Do you see a dubstep breakdown in Ke$ha and Katy Perry's productions? I didn't think so. Now watch you pull out an irrelevant band who did it before.

How can anyone not see the similarities between HIAM and Take It Off? They used that same bassline throughout the song! It's an essential part of the productions for both songs! And a 10 seconds of grime breakdown does not make it non-generic either. I find it laughable that the same people who champion HIAM being 'OMG it's so original!' are the same ones who trash Only Girl for being generic but they can't even find a song which the song is similar to (what recent song similar to its production? or where the music drops out to make way for the belted out chorus?)
